On behalf of the President, I would like to remind all members that the Hong Kong Veterans Memorial Wall unveiling event will be held on August 15 (Sat) 2009 at 11:00 A.M.

 

Since our old comrades fought alongside with these Canadian soldiers who paid for our freedom and even their lives in the defense of Hong Kong during WWII against the Japanese invasion. Hong Kong citizens should never forget their sacrifice. We as a member of The Regiment have double relationship with these 1,975 Canadian men and women, we have no doubt to pay tribute to them.

 

Other organization such as Toronto ALPHA not even has the close relationship like us with the Canadian soldiers is soliciting it's own network to join this event. Founder of ALPHA, Dr Joseph Wong mentioned to me when we last met that he was expecting at least 15 members from Toronto ALPHA to attend the event (not including those solicited from it's network).

 

As of today, we have at least 4 members are able to join the full convention and some members & families are able to attend the unveiling event. If you have not decided yet, please try your best effort to arrange your time. For more detail of the full convention or the event, you may visit HKVCA's web site:

 

 

This most meaningful event is really for those with Hong Kong origin or those with Hong Kong relationship. Please spread the word out. Meanwhile, I would sent out an invitation on behalf of you to invite our Association's network and my own network to attend this event, please feel free to forward the invitation to your network as well.
